Senari's integrated approach to teaching mathematics concepts consists of:

  • Interactive programs with tutorial help and hands-on work with specific concepts

  • Worksheet generators for testing students' mastery, as well as drill and practice.

  • Cheat Sheets and Strategy Sheets which provide problem-solving techniques and procedures

  • Manipulatives for providing a visual-kinesthetic approach to math concepts, and adding a puzzle component to math instruction

Each math level includes some or all of these materials.

Interactive Programs: Senari's interactive programs are designed to teach specific concepts in a concrete and visual way. Each time a student enters a concept, the problems are different because the numbers in the problems are randomly generated. Verbal positive feedback is given and the student's score is visible in the Score Box. The student or teacher can check the scores on the Progress Report whenever he is in the program. (The progress report is accessed from the file menu on the main menu screen.) A score of 90% indicates mastery of a concept.

Worksheet Generators: Each unique worksheet, created with randomly generated numbers, is printed with an answer key. Worksheets provide drill and practice as well as allowing you to test for mastery on a specific concept.

In the Timed Test section of each Worksheet Generator, specially designated concepts help students develop mental math and test taking skills. Students who can complete these tests in 5 minutes or less with no more than 2 mistakes demonstrate mastery of a concept.

Cheat Sheets and Strategy Sheets:Problem-solving techniques and procedures for fractions, geometry, problem solving (word problems), algebra and graphing provide teachers and home-educators with a way to present math concepts to their students in a consistent, visual, and concrete way.

Computer Generated Manipulatives and Games: The problem of lost pieces, and/or insufficient material for your students is solved with computer generated materials! These products include printouts and lesson plans for a variety of manipulatives and games. We have recently added Geometry Bingo Games as well as bilingual Tangram, Attribute Block, and Pattern Block Activities to the site. These bilingual activities teach critical thinking skills as well as geometry concepts such as area and perimeter.
