Designed as a "family-friendly" course, the lessons are easy for parents, teachers, and students to follow. The structured, sequential and self-correcting approach to language arts instruction allows the parents/teachers to set the pace of the instruction according to their students' needs and abilities. Because the materials are self-correcting, each student is encouraged to take responsibility for his or her own work and become a more independent learner.
Color Coding, together with sentence diagramming, is Senari Software's unique method of teaching basic grammar. It is easy is to understand, structured, and self-correcting. This hands-on (kinesthetic) and visual approach has been successfully used by home-schoolers, ESL and learning disabled students.
Using this curriculum, students learn to assign specific colors to parts of speech, then diagram the sentence to show how the words relate to one another. The grammar exercises provide a comprehensive study of grammar for students from the primary grades through high school.
In addition to the grammar exercises, lessons, templates, and videos to help you teach study skills, writing of descriptive paragraphs, and making study units are provided on the CD.
This instructional material has been successfully used by home-schoolers, ESL and Special Education Teachers.
Chris from Georgia says, "I have used everything you have sent me. It is all so very helpful. I am learning a lot, too. I never did much diagramming in school, so all of your materials are aiding me! I want to tell you that the color-coding is key. It has really helped my girls identify the parts of speech.

Microbiology Course
|
|
Developed in conjunction with Mrs. Patricia Valdez, a high school biology specialist, this series of study units, manipulatives, and diagrams is ideal for classroom use, independent study, or homeschooling. Study units guide the student through his/her studies. A clear concise description of each component includes its definition and function. A lesson plan is included for each activity.
This course includes access to 25 online quizzes and activities at www.quia.com.
The topics covered in the course are:
- the amoeba
- the animal cell
- the plant cell
- bacteria
- the euglena
- the paramecium
- the microscope
Diagrams and manipulatives allow teachers to use different types of presentations of the same basic material. This not only helps you to reach students at different levels, but adds variety to your classes. In the classroom, the individual units can be used to help students identify what they are looking at in the microscope. For Microbiology Camps and workshops for homeschool groups, "learning stations" can be set up using the study unit manipulatives as a learning aid, and the diagrams as review and testing material.
